T'was the Night Before Christmas...

Isn't this a great picture of our whole family? It was taken before going to Candlelight service on Christmas Eve.. The one good picture of EVERYone, everyone smiling...well, except Barkley, but oh well. Can't have it all right???

We went to church candlelight service, an early service, geared more towards kids. It was a nice service and the kids got to participate a lot, including singing Christmas songs by candlelight.

Then, we went over to Sammy's and Muna's for dinner and gift exchange. While we waited for the "bird", Muna played some Christmas songs on the piano, while Brooke sang along. I got some super cute video of it...how great a moment it was. Video follows the picture...

Then, as we were still waiting for the "bird" to arrive, the kids went ahead and did their stockings...
And lo and behold, finally, the birds arrived. Bridwell did an excellent job of smoking both a duck and a turkey - yum!
Then on to the presents!

Though, Brenna had the most fun helping to clean up all the trash afterwards...
Muna, Sammy and the grand-daughters...

Then, after we got home and unloaded all the goods, we were sure to lay out our cookies for Santa...
And said our goodbyes to our sweet elf, Chris, who we'll miss till next Christmas when he goes home to the North Pole tonight with Santa! (here's Brenna waving "bye bye" to the elf that has brought such fun to our house this season!)...
Cookies for Santa, carrots for the reindeer (and yes, we had to count them out so each reindeer had one...plus an extra for Rudolph ;-), and egg nog, because it is so much yummier than plain ol milk. And sitting on the fireplace next to the ancient family Santa that has been in my family for maybe almost probably over a century? It was my great grandmother's Santa. The guy's seen his day, but we love him!
So, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! Now, we're off to bed so Santa can come!
