We had a wonderful, blissful, peaceful, fun-filled Christmas. When we woke up, Santa had come and left a mess of toys for the kids and filled all our stockings. The looks on the kids faces were priceless for sure. We first had birthday cake for Jesus, sang "Happy Birthday" to Him, and had cake for breakfast. Then we dug in on the stockings first, taking our time. We force the kids to go as slow as we can. ;-) Then, next came the presents from Santa. He gave them an awesome play tent that will also fit on the bed that the whole family can probably fit in! (Ok, confession here...Santa had no idea how huge it would be once put together). Brooke got her requested scooter and some other fun toys. Brenna got the FurReal Friends duck she lusts after at every store we go to (how did Santa know?), along with some other toddler toys. Then on the family presents. We all had fun surprising each other. My family takes very good care of me in that department and I think everyone was equally grateful for their gifts. By then, it was lunchtime and we were getting worn out. So after lunch, naptime, and then the grandparents came over to have Christmas dinner and more presents! Whew! I swear it looks like Toys R Us threw up in our living room. But I can deal with the mess/chaos for a few days to allow the kids to have fun with all the new things. Then, we'll slowly but surely find resting places for all the new games and gadgets.
We are so blessed beyond words to have such great family to spend this holiday with, for all the gifts we have, tangible and not, and most importantly for God sending His only Son for our benefit. What greater love. I hope that everyone takes the time to remember the reason we celebrate this blessed day. And Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
Now, because I am on picture overload...and you know there are just WAAAAAAAY too many pictures for me to share (come on, it's Christmas for Pete's sake!), I just dumped them all (ok, and really this isn't even close to all of them) into a nice slideshow for you to enjoy.
