I finally got a copy of the X-ray of Brenna's arm the other day when we went for her followup. (Everything was so crazy and rushed and hurried that first day, I forgot to ask for it.) First of all, the followup went well. He just checked the cast over, made sure it was fitting ok, and we set the date for the cast to come off...Jan 6. Seems like a long way from now! But I'm ok with that (well, I guess I have to be right?). At least I KNOW it will come off then, instead of a 'come back then and we'll see...'. They did take another X-ray at her followup and said it looked good. So that's where we're at for now.
In the meantime, for posterity, I thought I'd share her X-ray, because yes, it will be going in her baby book. :P This was her first X-ray, pre-cast, to see if it was broken or not. After this was taken, and during the casting, is when he 'set' the bones with his hands, pushing them back together and in place to avoid surgery.
My hand is at the bottom (with my wedding ring) holding her arm down and straight. You can see both of her forearm bones broken. Now, I can understand the whole concept of the break and how the doctor was trying to explain how the little ones bones' don't break clean in half, but more like a green limb would break, like a splintering break. But, nonetheless, her poor little sweet arm, two bones broken. Such a sweet little arm. :-(
