A Day at the "Farm"

After we reached a stopping point on our garden preparations yesterday, we loaded up the kiddos and took them out to Rex's house (Brad's cousin) who lives in the 'country' to see his new baby goats. It's always fun visiting his house b/c it's like a little farm out there. Plus loads of fun playthings - trampolines, treehouses, bouncers, tree swings, and more! Brooke loves all the animals and now Brenna is really enjoying them too! He has sheep, donkeys, goats, chickens, and of course dogs. :) And right now, he has 3 baby goats. And when I say 'baby', I mean baby. They are less than 2 weeks old! Sooo cute! And maybe soon, Sammy will be having a couple baby goats too! She has one female who is pregnant right now. She also has two longhorns, a horse, and a donkey. The donkey and Brooke are especially close....no one else can get near the donkey except for Brooke for some reason. But anyway, I digress.

So, we spent a good portion of the afternoon/evening out at Rex's. Brooke always loves to go play with Chad anyway. We have to drag her away practically. Here's some pics (of course!)...

Now that Brenna officially is in love with goats (she really enjoys them at Sammy's house too), I need to go look up the sign for goat. I'm not sure what she enjoys more...goats or cats. But they both get an equally excited reaction from her. Ahh...seeing the world thru a child's eyes...Feeding time...

This "farm" is kinda backwards, doncha think? ?!?!? A place where the goats are smaller than Brenna?...And the poodles are big enought to ride?!?!...The smallest of the baby goats (remember, only 2 wks old!)...And if you know Rex, you know this is one of his time saving inventions. ;) He rigged up a milk system to feed the goats (since they are still bottle fed) to where the milk is never bad, never empty, all using a nipple, a magnet, some sort of tubing, and of course Duct tape....And I just absolutely LOVE this picture of Brenna! She is having the time of her life on her Daddy's shoulders (she pats his head constantly). That coupled with the bluest skies in the background. A pretty picture capturing the moment...
