Last day

Today is our last day before our routine gets back to 'normal'. Tomorrow Brooke goes back to Kindermusik and back to school. And Brenna even has her first activity about to start up! Yep - she'll be starting Kindermusik this semester. I can't wait!

Now, when Brad was off work and home, we did a lot of family things together, but since he's been back at work (since New Year's), we've done a whole lot of nothing! Lounging around the house, watching movies, doing little crafts, etc. We've been able to sleep in a lot. Brenna will now easily sleep till 8:30/9 (this is after going to bed around 8/8:30) so it's def been nice!

Brooke loves to play in her own room all the time and wants us (as in me and Brenna - and Daddy if he's home) to join her. Her new most favorite thing is playing records on her record player, most specifically right now she is in love with Annie. Ahhhh.....she is my daughter! I was Annie for Halloween once and have the movie and had the record. Now, she has the record. We watched the movie the other day for the first time and she LOVED it. (I did too! I still love that movie!) So then we dug around in her stash and found the record and she plays it about 10 times a day now. She knows all the words to all the songs pretty much and she is finally getting the hang of how the record player works. If I didn't love Annie and all the songs that go with it so much, I might be getting sick of listening to "Dumb Dog" or "Let's Go To The Movies", or "Tomorrow" by now. But who am I kidding? I still love it! And I am glad she has the same appreciation for music as I do. :) And every afternoon when Brenna wakes up from her nap, Brooke likes to go in and play with her for a while. She's really good with her. She climbs in her crib with a couple toys and plays with her for however long I allow. It's so fun to watch Brenna over the monitor get so excited to see her sister. She starts laughing, kicking and squealing with delight as soon as Brooke opens the door and starts to talk.

Brenna's new favorite 'toy' is her drum she got for Christmas and Brooke's play kitchenware - plates and bowls and such. She just loves to bang them around. She also loves nesting boxes - fun to bang on and chew on! She also loves to play "get him" or "get her" with Daddy or Brooke. Its where I hold her and she 'chases' Daddy or Brooke around the hosue. She cracks up and is hysterical as they are 'scared' of her. She has also been noticing herself in the mirror more often now. And for anyone worried about her seemingly lost chunky thighs, have no fear....they are back! Haha! Her little baby rolls are back. I'm pretty sure she's back up and well over 18 lbs now. She's wearing some 6-9 mo stuff, mostly 9 mo stuff, and some 12 month stuff even! (mainly sleepers) So, the days of her becoming a skinny baby are over. And she is looking more and more and more like Brad everyday I swear! It's almost a little scary? Anyway, you be the judge from the pics below.

Because as always, so as not to disappoint, here's some recent pics from the last of our lazy days....

Brenna's drum (and doesn't she look like Brad?!?!?!)...
nesting blocks...Brooke showing her how to build a tower and Brenna watching intently....Playing in Brooke's room with the plates and bowls, listening to Annie....Brooke playing dress-up (always a favorite!) and notice the record player in the background - pretty cool huh?....Singing and dancing to Annie (she is way dramatic with this...I'll have to get it on video)....
