So, after the mad rush of opening presents ended and Brooke begin to play among the chaotic mess in her living room, we settled down. My dad arrived at the house around lunch and preparations for Christmas dinner began. My mom arrived shortly after while the kids napped. We had a few hours of playtime/visit time, then a big turkey dinner with all the fixins. Afterwards, once again, presents were exchanged. My mom was very thoughtful and gave both Brad and I a stack of gift cards to each of our favorite restaraunts. My dad was thoughtful and gave Brooke a record player....and.....all of my old records from when I was a kid. Oh my, the memories! She loves it cuz she loves listening to music and a lot of the old records are also stories. What could be better? Fun times.
My mom also spoiled her with a pink sparkly dress-up dress that she wore the rest of the evening, along with some other dress-up clothes. She did good. ;)
Then we drove around a bit and looked at some FANtastic Christmas lights. We even had one house in town that had their lights choreographed to some music. It was awesome!
Now the kids are in bed. The mess has dwindled to a few piles - there's a Brenna pile and a Brooke pile. And now, we'll get to play some more over the next few days. Before we come down off the joy that is filling our hearts this beautiful Christmas day. So, Merry Christmas (again) to all and to all a good night!
And of course, pics from the afternoon/evening...
