Brenna is 8 months!

With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I almost forgot - today is Brenna's 8-month 'birthday'!! Wow....are we seriously creeping up to a year? I cannot believe it! Please please - someone tell me how to slow down the time?!
She is such a happy happy baby - all the time smiling, laughing, talking, blabbering, etc. Even when she's tired or has some other reason she should be fussy, she is still smiling and in a good mood. She talks SO LOUD though. Seriously, this kid has no volume control. I'm guessing she feels the need to talk louder than the rest of us. She's not crying - just the ever popular DaDaDaDa or some other popular phrase in her vocabulary. During our Christmas Eve dinner the other night, we seriously could not try to talk over her. It's insane! You should see us try to keep her quiet in church! SHe is starting to get a little skiddish around other people now - people she doesn't know too well or if they get too far from Mommy's view. It's so funny b/c she'll be so loud one minute, but if an unfamiliar person talks to her, she gets this real somber look on her face. She is pretty much a 2 nap a day girl nowadays. Unless something messes with her schedule (insert Christmas activities here!). She'll take about an hour nap in the morning and a 2-3 hr nap in the afternoon. She is such a sweet baby too. She loves giving those big open-mouth kisses and hugs. And it's so wonderful to walk in the door and get a great big excited smile from her. It makes you feel so good. She's not crawling yet, but can get about in her own time and desire. She rolls to get places and 'scooches'. She's pretty good at this scooching thing. We def can't leave her alone and expect her to be in the same place when we get back! Her favorite things are still the remote and the telephone. And don't try to give her a fake one either. We have a couple of remotes that go to diff things and she only wants the one that goes to the TV. Guess she's a TiVo fan too!
Since being sick with Rotavirus a week or so ago (yes, it was officially diagnosed as Rotavirus), her weight has definitely fluctuated. She was almost 18 lbs beforehand, then got down to 16 lbs and now she is slowly putting her baby fat weight back on. I never thought I'd be so happy to see those chunky thighs come back. :)

Her hair is really starting to come in too! Definitely a slow process (as it was with Brooke), but I am starting to notice longer strands! It's starting to cover the tips of her ears now and is starting to look a little 'fuzzy' on top. Still blonde blonde blonde. And so pretty.

She looks more and more like Brad every day I swear! And finally others are starting to see it more often now as well. Even he can pick out the features on her that are similar to his. She is still so beautiful though and gets so many comments from every passing stranger - esp with regard to her big beautiful bright blue eyes.
Brooke can always get a smile or a laugh from her. No matter the circumstance. She has so much love for her big sister it's unreal. And Brooke is just as equally in love. She takes care of her so well and spent much time over Christmas gatherings telling people what was or was not ok for Brenna and why. The hard eyes on stuffed animals, for instance, were not ok. But if she had a pacifier in her mouth, she could hold it b/c she wouldn't be able to chew it off. She will stop in the middle of whatever she is doing if Brenna drops a toy or pacifier or whatever else to pick it up for her. She is not ever so busy with her life to not stop and take care of Brenna's needs. And really, who expects this out of a 3yr old?

I just stumbled across this blog and had to tell you that my name is Brenna, my older sister is Brooke and my younger brother is Britt. Mom called us 3 B's (or Threebies). Too funny that you have Brooke and Brenna as well.

Cheers!!!
