Shoe tying!

Ok.  I know.  We're behind the times on this with Brooke.  She just turned 8 this Spring and can't tie her own shoes...  well, she had an inkling of how to do it.  But anytime we'd practice, she gets frustrated cuz she can't do it perfectly and would give up.  After all in the day in age of crocs, sandals, flip flops and velcro shoes....we didn't have a big need.  She honestly didn't have too many shoes that had shoestrings really!  Until recently.

So....I decided to make a day of it (or morning rather) and have a little lesson for both the girls.  So we each had a shoestring tied to the chair.  Its MUCH easier to teach than trying to do it upside down (for me).  That way you're all doing the same thing.  Then, once she's mastered tying on the chair several times, we were able to go to real shoes.  :)

After a few short times, Brooke could easily do it.  Again, she was close to being able to...just needed the practice.

I also taught Brenna too!  And I was impressed with how quickly she picked it up as well.  Hers still isn't as perfect and it takes her quite a while...but she knows how to do it now!

Whew!  Shoe tying?  Check.
