This season, however, she did move up to the "big leagues"...haha! Ok, that is totally my term. But before she was on the 6U (6 and under league), now she's in 8U (8 and under). Which means no more teeball. Its all coach pitch. 3 strikes and all that. She had to go through evaluations (which I thought I posted about but maybe not)....which basically was like the draft. Serious! All the girls had to go out, hit a few balls, throw some, field and catch. The coaches stood around, made notes and then they had a 'draft' or picking teams anyway. Brooke did pretty good - especially considering this was her first time doing that, being put on show...AND! She was the VERY first one they called out. Poor thing. :P
Now, Brooke ended up on a pretty good team I guess. She's been practicing for 2 1/2weeks now (one downside to this older league - later practices! Which is rough!) and no games yet. But they are the Jaguars. (haha - kind of coincidental..her school are the Jaguars too!). There are 12 girls on her team..which is kind of a lot I think? But they were short on coaches for the Fall league. She's pretty good at batting and fielding... catching (like, over hand catching) could use some work, BUT! The girl's got an ARM! Seriously.... she can throw the ball like nobody's business. Hrm. Future pitcher? Maybe.... Its quite surprising how well her tiny little self can throw! Even her coaches have commented....
Anyway, I believe games start next week, so we'll see how it goes! :)
