Swim Lessons

As of this typing of this post, we are over a week into swim lessons.  Brooke is in Level 3, which is where she ended last year at.  Brooke is in preschool 3, again...where she ended the year off last year.  They both are completely capable of not only keeping up, but probably should've been moved up a level.  But...eh, who cares.  Any exposure/practice is good.

When we first got there, Brooke was praying she didn't have one of the 2 boy teachers.  Uh  oh.  Her name was called.  By a boy teacher.  Not only that!  But she is in a class with ALLLLL boys!  She is literally THE ONLY GIRL.  Ack!  I just KNEW she'd come out that first day miserable, wishing she didn't have to go back, etc.

But what do you know?  She loved her teacher.  And she told me that the boys in her class said 'she was tough'.  Apparently they did some sort of swimming tug of war, where Brooke won.  She is easily keeping up and surpassing the boys.  So I'm proud of her, as usual.

Brenna is ready to just take off and swim alone.  I can taste it for her!  She can go short distances...a few feet or so.  But hasn't quite gotten that confidence to go further yet.  She is going under water, diving for rings, and all that other jazz.  And is going down the slide repetitively, when given the opportunity.  Her class I'm a bit more disappointed in based on previous years.  A different person took over the whole swim lesson thing here in town.  The other lady retired.  There's new teachers and such.  And.....eh...  I can just tell its not *quite* as good.  She doesn't get quite as much time as she had in the past and such...  but again.  Eh.  Any exposure/instruction is better than none!  And she's having a blast.

Here's some pics.  And some videos!

This time (below), Brenna said afterwards, "Mommy...the boy teacher helped me (Brooke's). You know, the one with all the stamps all over." (aka: tattoos! Ha!)

And this is the time (below) Brooke went by on Brenna's teacher and they were asking, "what level is she in???!" When he said "Level 3", they were like..."Oh. Wow!"

I'm sure after this last week of lessons, I'll have more to share!  :)
