Pinterest strikes again!

This year for the kids' Valentines parties at school...decided to make our own. And once again, I got the inspiration from Pinterest. :)

So, first I took a picture of each of the girls, with their little Valentine shirts on, cute backdrop, and holding their fist out. This was actually the hardest part of this project. Getting them to stand in just the right place with their hand in just the right place (thinking where I needed it exactly) proved to be a little difficult. But we finally managed. :)

I edited, cropped, and fixed the photos, working my magic, in Photoshop...then added the text....

Next I printed them out on different papers (regular, cardstock, or photo) to see what looked best/what worked best. I decided on regular photo paper. Then, I put the girls to work, with their class lists, addressing the 'cards' on the back to each of the kids in their class. That was the only downside to using the photo paper...the backside was kinda ugly. But oh well.

Then, I cut slits in the top and bottom of where their hand was...

And inserted a lollipop (the only purchased item) and voila!

I put a piece of tape on the back to secure it from going up and down, just in case (you can see in one of the above pictures), but honestly, they were pretty secure. I was careful not to make the slits any bigger than absolutely necessary so it was a tight fit. ;)

Anyway, I think they turned out cute. Here's part of our completed stash. We ended up doing 48! *Gasp*! I know... but kids in the class, teachers, piano teacher, a couple for the local cousins, and a few extra....and we used every lollipop in the bag - 48.
