What the HAIL?!

Last week we had some pretty serious storms come through. Which, actually, was a nice change. Rain. Its nice to see. What we weren't expecting was the high winds that damaged buildings and homes. And the HAIL! My, oh, my...the hail. I have been in some hail storms before. But this was something I had never seen! It was POURING hail for 10 solid minutes. It was right around lunchtime so Brenna was home and excitedly running around, "Oh my goodness! Oh my GOODNESS!...Oh MY goodness!" It was pretty cute. I only captured these quick photos with my cell phone. My memory card was busy on my 'real' camera. So this is all I got. But all of this in the picture you see (both on the ground AND falling from the sky) is hail. There was no rain during this time. Just solid hail. It wasn't very large sized...just a lot, scratch that, a TON of it. Our yard looked like a winter wonderland afterwards for a good hour I'd say. And Brenna was very confused why she couldn't go make snowballs. :P

Took these pictures about 30 min after the storm once I freed up my memory card. That's how much hail was STILL left on the ground half an hour after the storm was over!
