The post where I get to talk about me? LOL No, not really. Just wanted to share the most awesome gift I got. :) And it cost no money. Just thought..time, and effort. And I really think it was the most awesome gift.
So, first off.. for my birthday, I got invited to a lunch at Olive Garden with Brad and my mother in law and grandmother in law. The day started off kinda crappy honestly. I had been up since 3:30am. Between kids needing to pee, being scared of the dark, and other things, I went to bed at 11pm and was up at 3:30am without being able to go back to sleep. So at 5am, I got up and started working on some pictures I needed to get done. Blech. So, needless to say... by 10am, I was shot. I had volunteered at the school and my eyes were drooping, being held open by imaginary toothpicks. So at first, I didn't feel like a celebratory lunch, I honestly just wanted a NAP! But once there, it was sooo yummy! And this chocolate cake pepped me up a bit I have to admit! :-)

Then after school and work, the girls (and Brad) gave me their handmade cards. I was expected folded construction paper with sweet handwritten messages on it. And that was kinda it.... but soooo much better. First, I'll just let you see the presentation:
So, if you can't tell from the video (and this was the second presentation...Brenna's was really cool), but basically they came up and asked me "Mommy, guess how much I love you"...and I said, "How much?" of course... then they had to hands (they had traced that were put together and unfolded them out to reach far (they were folded accordion style). Very cool! Then Brooke read hers, which had a poem about the color blue (my favorite color she knew) and a Happy Birthday song on the other side. Then they also made one where Brenna's hand was on one side and Brooke's on the other.
So here's some pictures to hopefully describe better what it was... (which was the most awesome gift!)...
The one Brooke did, with her hands and her poem on one side...
The one Brenna did, with her hand and writing...

The one they did together, with Brenna's hand on one side, Brooke's on the other (and this one was extra long too!)

And pictures of the 'presentation' :)
Cool, eh? I knew instantly that the idea came from Pinterest. Brad is such an addict now. :P But it was still a lot of time involved to cut the strips of paper, fold them up all the same and tape them together. I have the best husband! :-D
Also, for my birthday, I got this SensatioNail kit. If you've ever had and loved a Shellac manicure, then you need this! It is just like it except you do it home and doesn't cost near as much. It is super easy and has the same awesome results. And if you have no idea what I am talking about (with regard to the Shellac) you should still try it if you want awesome looking nails. Its like a gel-based manicure thing that is dry instantly (after you 'cure' it in the light), is chip-proof and lasts for 2-4 weeks! Yes, seriously. 2-4 weeks in perfect condition. :) The Shellac is professional salons only, but now they've come out with the SensatioNail that is over the counter?, so to speak? You can buy it and do it at home yourself now! So, anyway, the starter kit comes with everything you need to do the first manicure (and like, 10 more it says). You get one color with it and can buy add'l or different colors if you like.

This is all it comes with....

I didn't get pics of the whole process (kinda hard to do with one hand while you are painting or polishing) but I tell you..SUPER easy!

The finished product!
