Christmas Day - Part one

Have to divide into two parts b/c our Christmas day was PACKED full of fun.

So, Brenna woke up at an unbearable 4am on Christmas morning. And since we didn't go to sleep till after midnight....it was an early start! She did just come into bed with us and didn't even glance in the living room (ha!), but didn't go back to sleep real good until about 5:30-6am. Or maybe that's just when *I* went back to sleep. Just in time for Brooke to come running in at 7am, "Mommy he came!!! He came!!! Santa came!!!"

Santa left a trail of snow behind! In the fireplace and near the cookie plate and milk glass!

Here's Brooke dragging Brenna out of bed to "come look!!!"

But first, every year, before any presents are opened, we remember why we celebrate by singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and having birthday cake for breakfast!

Then, on to presents! :)

We also drag it out and open presents slowly...and typically the girls are pretty cooperative and enjoy seeing what everyone else got too!

Brooke got her Fijit she wanted, along with the Happy Napper, a couple of feathers (for her hair), a stuffed chihuahua (since there was no way she was getting a real one!), and a few other small things ... from Santa.

Brenna got a Rapunzel doll (she loves!), a Happy Napper, a chihuahua as well, and a cute little Snow White fabric doll that has pockets to hold each dwarf! Its kinda cool actually. Not sure where Santa finds these things! ;)

After Brooke left Chris (our elf) a goodbye note, he apparently left her one back in her stocking!

The dogs even got treats too! (of course)

I love this picture bc I love how Barkley is sitting right there, looking on patiently as they rip through their stockings. :)

After stockings and Santa presents, we exchange our gifts to and from each other. The girls got Brad this Tshirt that I love! (and he does too) :)

He also got an iPod Nano and watch to go with it, new bluetooth earbud for his phone, and the Steve Jobs book.

Teamwork! (we got them a lava lamp for their room :)

Brooke also got a case for the iPod and the Design your own Hair Barbie she wanted. Brenna picked out a color your own purse that Brooke loves. :)

Brenna got games to go with her new LeapPad, along with a case and Brooke got her a kitty cat just like hers - which might be Brenna's favorite gift from the day. :)

After learning how this goes and us telling her 'show me!', Brenna decided to turn her back to us while she unwrapped... "Hold on! I've gotta show you!"...then when she got it all unwrapped, she'd turn around and display it for us. A real Vanna White I guess! LOL

I got lots of goodies - a reflector kit (photography stuff), a lens cap keeper, a cleaning kit, a shutter remote (WOO HOO! I've wanted this FOR-EVER!), necklace, electric blanket, pedicure/manicure gift card and more! I must've been good this year. :)

After all the presents were opened it was nearly naptime! So we sat around for a bit and let the girls go through all their goodies. Eventually though, we had to clean up and get ready for company for dinner! :)
