We are well into week 2 of swim lessons and the girls are doing great! In fact, we took the kids to the pool over the weekend and Brenna decided she was just ready to swim on her own. Ummm.....no!
But, yea. She would just let go (of us.. or the side of the pool... or whatever) and go under. She WANTED to go under water. She kept asking to do it again, to do it by herself, etc, etc etc... And then she finally got frustrated after us telling her numerous times, "Brenna you can't swim by yourself yet. You don't know how"..... she said, "Well then TEACH ME!" LOL
Then, after a while, I told her to stop going under water, even just putting her face in. I didn't want her to have a lot of water intake mistakenly or something. Then she kept trying to be sneaky and she would turn her back from me and dip her face in! And even at one point, she told Brad, "hurry, quick! Mommy's not looking!" while going under water.
The kid is crazy.
Here's a quick video of her going under to get the dive sticks with her swim teacher...
So I wasn't suprised when the first of the week, she agreed and wanted to go down the slide like a big kid during swim lessons.
And Brooke is doing well too! She is quite a little swimmer, actually. Of course I think she does awesomely with all her activities, but with swimming, she seems to really have a natural way with it. Something I am insanely jealous of actually. She is a much better swimmer than I am or ever was and it appears to come so naturally. Her teacher, yesterday, was genuinely commenting on her awesome strokes and how she looked like an Olympic swimmer. And not in a praising-the-kid-for-doing-well kinda way, but rather in a legitimately impressed kind of way. But most important, Brooke really really enjoys swimming. So maybe we should allow her to do swim team?
Of course Brooke jumped at the chance to go down the slide too!
