After almost a full month in gymnastics (and cheerleading too for Brooke), the girls are doing really well. Brenna is still pretty shaky, with her leg, but that is one of the main reasons we wanted her doing it. We hope she'll gain some of her leg strength back. She's still having some issues with walking and not being able to go very far very fast...and climbing or anything that takes use of that one leg is hard for her. For instance, she makes me soooooo nervous trying to get out of the pool on the ladder. I hold my breath every time.
So we think the gymnastics will help build that leg back up - we hope anyway. ;) When she first started, she couldn't even do the balance beam by herself. Her leg would not let her put (walk) one foot in front of the other. She is still struggling, but getting better! (And yes, I still wonder if she needs some physical therapy or something to help, cuz something's still...um...'off'...with her leg).

And Brooke is getting back into the swing of things. At first she was really down because she is the littlest in her class. She was (is?) the least talented in her class. And she realized this. She took gymnastics last year and did well at it, but was also, at that time, one of the bigger ones in the class. Now, that she's been on a hiatus, she's lost some of her ability and confidence. But she still wanted to do it and get better and she is! She is also hopefully gaining some confidence, which is great for her. :)
