Goodbye to Ms Lydia!

Despite my months of being in denial, it really is happening. Our beloved preschool/Kindergarten teacher, Ms Lydia is retiring and moving on. Since she doesn't have a lot of family (ok, any family really), a couple of the parents suggested we do a retirement party for her. It went from there. I reserved a room at a local BBQ place, sent out invites, and contacted as many of her old students/parents as I could. It turned out fabulously. She had a great time I do believe and teared up quite often seeing some of the parents from before and such. Everyone that could came out to celebrate her and it was so nice.

the cake table...

the guest book table, where people were able to sign and write sweet messages to Lydia.

closer up of the cake table - found the little tabletop decorations that I thought were perfect! :)

another one of the moms at the school did the cake...

and here's some other pics from the evening...

I made Brad get up and give an impromptu 'speech' about Lydia. He did great!

Brenna kept trying to take peeks at the cake ;P...

Here's a pic of all the kids that were there that Lydia taught (of course this is a small SMALL sampling! she taught hundreds of kids, if not thousands..literally...33 years of teaching kids!)...

And my girls with their (and our!) favorite teacher. We will sure miss her dearly! She has given our kids such a great foundation of education, no one will ever compare. :)
