Tuesday night at bible study, Brad's side of the family celebrated Brooke's birthday, complete with live entertainment. :)
She got to open more presents!
Otherwise, this week has been thankfully slow. I've been back to getting a lot of chores and errands done. The kids have been playing outside lately since its back to being 80 degrees in the afternoon. Um, what about Spring???
Anyway, with Spring (sort of), comes all the little creatures...including the not so fun ones.
For her birthday, Brooke got a bug vacuum. Both girls are obsessed with bugs, but particularly Brenna. Not necessarily in a good way. For a while, she was FREAKING OUT every time she saw anything even close to a tiny bug. Flies were her nemesis. But we've graduated now to just being a little fascinated and a tiny bit scared. And the bug vacuum helps. ;)
As far as Brenna's leg/cast is going. Well... it's going. She is now walking completely on her tippy toes. I called about it (since she's doing it with both feet), but the nurse said there wasn't anything more they could do..that that was her just figuring things out and hopefully after a few days or after the cast come off (big difference there!), she would go back to walking normally. Hopefully. Hrm.
Anyway, she does well with it and maneuvers all around. Sometimes a little too well if you know what I mean. We try more now to limit her moving around too much. She's fallen a few times, but with no damage thankfully. Baths were hard. Well, actually they still are. And actually, they don't happen. She gets sponge baths only and when her hair HAS to be washed, its done in the sink. That was met with a lot of screams the first couple of times, but its getting better. At school during playground time and anywhere where she'll be outside for a while, we put a bag over it to help keep it sort of clean. That ended today I'm afraid. She came home from school with her toes filthy and the shoe part of her cast completely black. BLECH! I cleaned it best I could, but 4 more weeks of this? Yea...I'm afraid its going to get stinky before long. :/
Here's her new bling - if you can't see in the picture, it has her name in sparkles now. Of course, this, in itself, is more work than it appears. Its not *just* stickers. I have to actually glue them on to get it to stay for longer than just a few hours!
