This morning was Brooke's long awaited birthday party at Powersports. To say she had fun would be an understatement. She had a blast! This, from the girl, who just a couple months ago didn't want a party at all cuz her two besties had moved away. ;)
Let's start with the cake. Or...back up. And start with the invitation. She wanted a 'rock star' party. So I made the invitations and sent them out accordingly. Here's a copy of one (with details blotted out) - cute, eh?
Then I talked with the person who was going to do the cake. I loved her 'present' type cakes and wanted to implement the 'rock star' theme and came about the idea to have it look similar to her invitation. I was so incredibly impressed with how it turned out! So much so I just wanted to take endless pictures of it. It was soooo cute! (and tasty too!)
Brooke was so good about coming over and getting her (shyer) friends to come play once they started arriving at Powersports. I was so impressed! Since she is usually the shy one at parties! But she ran and did everything imaginable. And she played with everyone really. I was so proud of her. We invited a ton of kids since she doesn't have too many close close friends. Most showed up and I think most everyone had a lot of fun!
And I felt bad going in for Brenna, not being able to fully enjoy Brooke's party. But...what do you know...she doesn't let a full leg cast stop her! She was trying to jump on the trampoline (we had to stop that quickly) and ended up playing on the bars, doing somersaults, anything you can imagine. What a kid!
Then it was time for cake and presents. The cake was gobbled up quickly (did I mention how yummy it was too?! 1/2 white, 1/2 cookies n cream!).
Holy guacamole there were a lot of kids in that room! They had to pull out extra chairs and all. No way could I even get a picture of everyone in one frame. But the kids were happy - there was enough cake for everyone! :)
And then to the other room for presents. Brooke was a little bit more shy here, but she did good.
Then she handed out the goodie bags to everyone who came and we loaded up the car full of all her new goodies and she immediately proclaimed that was the best birthday party ever! And that all her friends had so much fun they wanted to have their birthday parties there too! She kept telling me the rest of the day how much fun she had. I'm so glad. Definitely makes it all worth it!
