The 7 year itch?

Naw, not me! I have no itch I need to scratch.

Almost 9 years ago, I met the love of my life. I just didn't know it right away. I went to work at the probation department and shared an office with this guy, who was so smart it bugged me. But I loved it. I trusted him with any question I had, either work related or otherwise. Our friendship started off so wonderfully. We were such great great friends. He was the best office mate ever!

Here we are. Office mates. And what's up with the high waters? (actually there's a whole 'nother back story on that - me having my feet up and getting in trouble for it. LOL) And yea, he was kinda dorky back then. But a cute dorky. :) We had this weird mutual attraction that we were scared to admit. After all, work relationships never work out. ;)

Sooo... I quit. My job, that is. Ok...not really the reason. We had our first real date on March 17 - St Patrick's Day at Bennigan's. I had my first ever Monte Cristo sandwich. But even better than the sandwich was the company! By this point, I was still working at probation, but we were no longer office mates. And a short time later, I did quit and moved on to parole. Six months later, we got engaged.

And 5 months later - March 21, 2004, 7 years ago today,...we were married.

And I have never looked back. We still have our fun relationship. We have fun together. We love each other. We fight together. But, we always make up. Because we love each other. More than life itself. I could not ask for a better husband, a better father to my children, a better friend.

A little over one year later, we became parents for the first time and my love for this man grew even more. Now, we have two beautiful daughters. All because two people fell in love...way back when in that dirty old basement office of ours in the probation department. :)
