We finally got rid of Brenna's crib/toddler bed (during the garage sale). She was still fine in the toddler bed for the most part, but we were ready to sell it while we were having a sale. So off it went. The problem was what bed she would sleep in from here on out? We toyed with the idea of bunk beds, but honestly...it just scares me, especially with Brenna's adventurous side and her already history with broken bones. ;) Then I found this bed that I was almost ok with and my mom was willing to help with the cost for both girls. But I couldn't quite decide when faced with that much money on the line. I mean...what if it took up too much room? (you can measure all day long, but until you see it in their room you never know), or what if we decided to separate them later and then we couldn't really separate that bed?, or there was the problem of Brenna being on the lower bed with no side or wall on either side... **sigh** .... I just couldn't do it yet. So we had no idea what to go with. Then we came across Tara's old bed, a daybed, that was going to be given away or sold. So we snagged it up. This way we don't feel that invested (with a lot of money) in case we change to something later and yet, its a nice bed that she can sleep in for a while if we choose that route too. Also makes a nice spare bed if we ever do get bunk beds for them. And, even better....the mattress was a super nice pillowtop (better than ours!) so Brooke got that mattress, Brenna got Brooke's old mattress on the daybed. And they even had a trundle for it underneath. So, if we do ever have company, we have an extra trundle bed too!
Anyway, not sure why I felt the need to explain all that... :P But bottom line, is Brenna got a new bed. :) Well, new to her anyway. Here she is sleeping in it. I think we're going to re-arrange the rooms, so I didn't take a great pic now b/c we're likely to be re-doing some things in the near future anyway.
Strange little girl has always slept sideways in her crib/toddler bed. And even now, with this HUGE (to her anyway) twin bed, she still tries to go up sideways, sometimes ending up upside down or some other random position. Silly girl. :)
Along the same topic..... I snapped this picture of Brooke sleeping in her bed...with..what is that? In her hand? A pacifier? yes, indeed. Why you may ask? Well, because every night after we put them to bed, Brenna crawls out of her bed, goes to her basket of extra pacifiers, gets an extra one and takes it to Brooke for her to sleep with "so she can remember Brenna." Isn't that so sweet?

Ooh, I love that bed you linked to though!! I bet Josh could build something like that too. It looks like the lower bed pulls out at night? We've thought about bunk beds too (or even loft beds for both of them when they're older so they can still share a room, but still have the floor space for desks, etc...), but they scare me also. Of course, I remember getting to sleep on the top bunk at an Aunt's house when I was about 5 and I did fine even though I was a wild sleeper. Anyways....love that bed though!
Yep. The lower bed is on wheels so you could pull it out. Of course, in Brenna's case, she'd fit in only half the bed anyway. LOL And we even toyed with the idea of pulling it out and over to keep it next to the wall for safety sake. I had bunk beds too as a kid and did fine, but I was like Brooke (scared to do anything!). Brooke would be fine in it. It's Brenna I worry about. And not even so much while sleeping...but maybe deciding to do gymnastics off the side. ;)
