Movin on up...!

We made the switch to the toddler bed for Brenna. She wasn't trying to climb out or anything. She was perfectly content. However, I was getting antsy wanting to get rid of the crib. And I think sometimes its better to do it earlier (though she is almost 2!) to make it an easier transition.

And it was pretty easy and seamless! So far anyway. At first she kept trying to tell us her bed was "broken" and "fix it Daddy". It does kinda look like the side broke off I guess. But then we convinced her this was a big kid bed. The first night or so we had to stand there at the door for 5 minutes or so reminding her to stay in bed and if she tried to get out telling her 'no, its time to go to sleep.' But literally it only takes about 5 minutes or so. Then she gives up and goes to sleep. And continues to sleep well all night long. The only major difference is that when she wakes up in the morning, she is up. Before she used to lay there and kinda rest or snooze a bit before making a lot of commotion. Now, when she wakes up just a little and she gets up, she wakes Brooke up and comes to find us.

It was so cute, though, that first morning. She went and tapped Brooke on the shoulder and said, in her sweet little sleepy voice..."Hi, Brooke." So then they both got up and she came running in to find me and said so excitedly, "I wake up Mommy!" I couldn't really capture the cute moment on camera, but I tried...
Naptimes are surprisingly fine too. Her and Brooke are actually napping in the same room again (for a while we had let Brooke nap in our bed) and both handle it well.

Our little baby is really growing up now! Now we have to make the decision of what kind of "real" bed to get for her (or them). Brad really wants to do bunk beds, but I'm not so sure.... We'll see.

And in other news/pictures, here's some pics from last weekend (the day after Brooke's bday) where we went out to the land with family to enjoy the beautiful weather!

This picture makes me think of Alice in Wonderland...haha!....
