The other night we made it out to Santa's Wonderland...a spectacular drive through light display on the outskirts of town. It's rather expensive, but quite worth it....once a year anyway. ;-) Especially for the kids. They love it. They are in awe. We figure if we're gonna do it, we're gonna do it all the way, so we buy the tickets to get in to Santa's Town and do the hayride.
Then, afterwards, we get to enjoy the benefits of Santa's Town. Everything there costs as well...except for our free hot chocolate courtesy of buying our tickets in advance online! But its still fun to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.
They have Santa there as well. And while you could pay for pictures with Santa, it was free just to talk to him. And he was a very engaging, yet not overbearing Santa. BOTH the girls actually talked to him..yes, Brenna too. Brooke hugged him and was sure to tell him once more about the scooter and the two stuffed ponies she wanted (one for her, one for Brenna). And the girls got candy canes and stickers with his picture on them. It was a great experience for them.
Before we went in, here's a picture of Brenna peaking in on him...
We did pay the 'extra' to allow the kids to go inside the petting zoo, of which they both love.
Brooke loved playing in the 'snow' that fell everytime the saloon doors opened. Here's a picture of her showing Brenna a 'snow' flake that landed on her nose...
And we spent the rest of our time, sitting by the bonfire, drinking our free hot chocolate, and enjoying the live entertainment. I love this picture..showing Brenna totally going for my hot chocolate!!!!....
It was great fun. Always is. Its a great experience if you are in the area. All the people are so friendly. I'd definitely recommend buying tickets in advance (if you plan to do the hayride) to get a free hot chocolate! And I'd also recommend trying to go during the week, as I've heard that the line to get in on a weekend night are 2-3 miles long!! :O
