Today, Brenna woke up from her nap with a 102 fever. She was extremely upset and lethargic all at the same time. Deja Vu! I was terrified it might be the flu again. There are several strains going around and everyone keeps saying you can get "the flu" more than once...there are so many different "flus". Of course there was also possibility it was 'just' a virus and we would go to the dr for nothing. But mommy instinct told me I better take her in. Of course this was after her 3.5 hr nap! So it was 4:45 on a Friday. Off to Urgent Care we go. We waited, and waited, and waited..... finally, see the Dr, who checks her over and determines she has a pretty bad ear infection. Whew! (I think?) I'm just thankful - no flu. And thankful - not contagious. As she was checking her over (and therefore checking her throat) she kinda gagged her with the stick thingy and Brenna threw up. Yuk. So, we get some prescriptions for her and head home. She got some antibiotics (I'm allergic to penicillin, we're about to find out if she is too!), some ear drops, and some zofran (anti-nausea). I didn't really think she needed the anti-nausea...figured she just gagged. But we got home, gave her her first dose of antibiotics and let her have yogurt and graham crackers for dinner (at 8:45 at night! we were just getting home!). Then we still had to give her a bath (remember the vomiting episode? yea...that stinks. literally.). And because she was not feeling good and now extremely tired and probably in pain, she started crying and crying and crying...And again, she threw up. Hmm... so not sure. We might have to go back for the zofran after all. We'll see how she is tomorrow I suppose. And hope that some of the antibiotic stayed in her. Oh...and yea, we're supposed to go see Santa and take pics tomorrow morning too. Ugh.
So, sorry for no pictures this post. We've still been busy busy, moving furniture around, configuring and collaborating my new computer. (yep, I broke down and let Brad get me a Mac. It's totally awesome and also a little scary too...just different). And now, dealing with a sick baby.
The girls are still loving sharing a room. Night time is going great - no problems at all going to bed. And naptimes are much better as well. Brenna goes to sleep right away (back to normal for her) and Brooke either goes to sleep right away or at least rests quietly. I think she still needs to nap (she's been awfully sleepy this week), but hopefully she'll start napping regularly again soon. This past week, Brooke has napped at least 4 days. So we'll get there. The girls do wake up a little earlier than they used to. I think before they used to wake a bit, then roll back over and go back to sleep. Now, they wake up, see each other and just get up. *shrugs* Don't mind that either. I think they'll get used to seeing each other in the morning soon enough too.
Anyways, so that's it for now! Wish us luck for Santa tomorrow (hopefully!) And pray for Brenna to feel a lot better when she wakes up tomorrow! My poor girl has been through enough already! :-(
