Anyways, I'll share just a bit. Soon, I promise I'll have more pictures to add, but in the meantime, here's whats been going on...
So we all know, Brenna and Brad got swine flu. Well, from that, Brad developed pneumonia. A week later, (we think also from the flu) Brenna developed a bad ear infection that landed us in urgent care and landed her some antibiotics. She's been extra fussy these days and clingy and needy...moreso than usual for her so I'm hoping its just due to the ear infection. ((fingers crossed))
Also, I think I mentioned I got a new iMac. Well, in so doing, my pictures and picture taking ability has been limited. All of our "spare" time has been spent (after moving furniture around first) configuring the Mac, trying to figure out which way is the best for pictures, storing, etc... Then on top of that, I either have to have a card reader or load on the software for the Canon SLR for the Mac to be able to download the pictures taken on that. Couple that with, after replacing my point and shoot (from the evil drop that happened on Halloween), I got a piece of junk! I think it was probably just a lemon, b/c really how many cameras out there nowadays take extremely grainy pictures and shaky Blair Witch Project type videos. But nonetheless, it went back to the store and I was hesitant to replace it with the same model. So we decided on another one, which we found the best price for online, so that entailed ordering it and incurring the shipping time. So point of that story...the cameras have been out of pocket for a bit lately. Hopefully I'm getting close to a point where I can take and load up pictures again real soon.
But there in lies another stalling problem... I have begun working again! Yep, that's right. Most of you may know, but I recently took on a part-time temporary job at Baskets on the Brazos . I know the owner courtesy of Brooke and her first MDO at Kingdom Kids. Her daughter also went to Kingdom Kids and Brooke and her were in the same class when they were about 18mos or so. They were inseparable at school. We even went to sweet Alayna's 2nd bday party! Anyways, after that year, we lost touch a bit when lo and behold Alayna and Brooke end up in the same ballet class this year. It was great seeing them again and of course, Brooke and Alayna remembered nothing of each other. :-( But of course, I remembered the mom. We've been chatting ever since. And she needed extra help for the holidays making Christmas baskets. So there you go. I am working at night, from 6-10pm, only up until Christmas. It is fun easy work (and I couldn't love my boss more)...the only difficult thing is walking out the door when Brad gets home. :-( And my body is still adjusting a bit to being up (and active) late. Its hard to come home at 10:30 and go straight to bed, so I end up staying up later to unwind and still getting up early. I'm in need of a nap! ;-) But its only temporary and its nice to have the extra cash. And like I said, she's a GREAT person to work for and the job is quite ideal. In the meantime, he's on Daddy duty at night. So far every day when I leave, Brenna cries and then Brooke tells me the next morning she "sure did miss me while I was at work last night." aww...those heartstrings!
Anyways, so that's what life has been up to. We are definitely living for the weekends now and I can't wait to catch up on all our TiVo'd shows this weekend! LOL
The kids are great and funny and amusing. Brenna is saying almost everything nowadays. Of course, many people can't understand what she is trying to say...sometimes I can't even, but she tries. And that's what's important I guess. I love seeing her so proud of herself when she says a new word. She gets this goofy little grin on her face that's so cute. (soon...I promise I'll have pictures to back this up) She tries to do everything big...tries to pick up big heavy things, tries to play with the big kids at Brooke's school, tries to use her potty just like Brooke...I'm just not ready for all this growing up!
Brooke is doing great at school and Kindermusik. She is officially reading music and doing lots of addition and subtraction. She loves to swing now (where did THAT come from?!?!) and is getting so excited for Christmas already.
And they are both doing well together in the same room. Both naptimes and bedtimes are going quite well...no more talking or stalling or keeping each other awake. I think we've surpassed the speedbump with that and they are both doing well and loving it!
Both the girls are now addicted to Abiyoyo . It all stems from Kindermusik. We are now doing the same class with Brenna as we did with Brooke way back when. Anyways, on this particular Kindermusik CD, there is a song called Abiyoyo. Its a slow peaceful song. Then one day (with Brooke) I noticed an episode of Between the Lions with Abiyoyo. Then I realized there was a book. So, Brooke became increasingly fond of it. It was a phase...that passed. But now, here we are with Brenna. Same Kindermusik CD, same Abiyoyo song, same book...etc. Her new favorite word? "Yo-Yo". She asks for it ALLLLLL the time in the car and also on my computer. I made the mistake of showing her this video one time and she wants it all the time now. Its kinda wierd that both my kids like(d) this so much. Its kind of a scary story? With a happy ending of course, but still.... I guess they like the song.
Ok..anyways, enough for now. Almost time for me to go to work! :-)
