Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! We had a nice, semi-relaxing time of it. Our weekend started off by letting Brooke stay up SUPER late Friday night (July 3) for fireworks in our front yard, courtesy of a local baseball teams "Friday Night Fireworks". What we didn't expect was that the game would last soooo long. She ended up going to bed after 11pm! Yikes. Then Saturday, we just hung out at the house all day with my dad and had barbeque of course! What's more American? Afterwards, we went to see the fireworks display at GB library. We went a little early, parked our car where we wanted to watch the fireworks, then walked over to the library for some activities beforehand. Totally NOT worth it. We were really disappointed with the 'activities'. They charged for everything and nothing was really that great. The only thing is you could get into the library for free, but been there, done that. And esp didn't want to do it again, with a line as long as it was.
Here's Brooke walking through the "itchy grass", as she called it. Really, they should've gotten a hay bailer out there beforehand. :P
Did I mention how HOT it was? Geesh. We only spent about 45 min walking around and were drenching with sweat. Yuck. So we walked back to our car - in the AC and cooled off before setting up our chairs and our space to get ready for the fireworks.
Brenna almost didn't make it to the fireworks. She kept finding the pillow and laying down. :-)
But once they started (not *too* late), she was just plain fascinated!

You got such great shots! I only took ONE picture (sighhhhh!) Next year I'm going to bring Milo, he stayed home with my Mom because I wasn't sure how he'd do with the fireworks, but seeing Brenna in these pics makes me change my mind! :) Dominic stayed up till 11:30 and still wanted to hear a story before bed, ayesh! Nice documenting, Mama, you rule!
Brandy, your girls are always so cute!
