And....she's off!

Today Brenna took her first 'real' steps. She's been standing alone now for the last week or so for looong periods of time. Like several minutes. Just standing there, not moving an inch. As if her feet were concreted to the floor. She had gotten to where she could stand from the ground without using something to pull up on, but then would freeze and clap (as in "yay! Brenna!"). But today, folks, she took off.

Ok well, she didn't take off, as in at lightening speed or anything. But she took a couple steps for sure! All on her own. And it was literally right as Daddy walked in the door (coming home from lunch) so everyone got to witness it. I grabbed my camera (of course) and caught the last little bit. What's great about this first video is just how excited SHE is with herself. (at this point she had already taken a couple of steps and was so proud of herself) I love it!

I also have to mention, that, by now, you probably realize my kids are always dressed in cute clothes. Always. Even their 'play clothes' are cute. But. Of course, the ONE day when I'm doing allll the laundry in the house and the ONE day when she is in a diaper only...that's the day she chose to take these first steps. I seriously never have my kid in just a diaper. What's even more funny...is that coincidentally Brooke's first steps were in 'just a diaper' too. I swear. ((rolleyes)) What are the odds?

Anyway, so then, after her nap, she started getting better quickly. I'm sure before long she really will be at lightening speed. Go Brenna!

Oh, and PS - She is 5 days shy of 15 months, which is almost to the day the same time Brooke walked. :-)
