Sleepover

Over the weekend, we decided to have a trial run of the girls spending the night together in the same room. Before we decide if they'll share a room we wanted to know how it'd go over. Also, it's nice to know in case we ever have company if we can open up Brooke's bed or not. Brooke thought this idea was FABULOUS and was so super excited! So we pulled out her little aerobed and blew it up in Brenna's room. The both liked playing on it. Brenna kept going up and down and up and down. She is definitely a climber. Her favorite game these days is what we call 'pillow mountain' - we throw a bunch of pillows in the living room floor and let her crawl around all over them and on top of them.
Anyway, I digress. So here's the girls playing on the blow up bed.

So bedtime came around. We let Brooke read her story first and told her after I fed Brenna and brought her in, she was to be quiet. And she was. And then Brenna noticed Brooke was in her room. She was so funny (we were watching over the monitor). She started squealing and giggling. Anyways, but true to her big sister role, Brooke didn't succomb to peer pressure. She remained quiet and didn't indulge Brenna in the games. So Brenna laid back down and dozed off. All's good right?

Wrong. After 15 min or so (everything was fine!), Brooke thought Brenna might need another pillow. Ugh. So she creeps over to Brenna's bed and tosses a pillow in, which lands right on top of the sleeping Brenna. Ugh. It went downhill from there. Brenna was scared out of her mind! I had to nurse her again, we had to lower her mattress cuz she was trying to crawl out, we had to turn off Brooke's nightlight, which led to Brooke getting scared and crying. Ay yi yi - sooo, we moved Brooke back in her room for the night. And eventually calmed Brenna back down. Now this was Saturday night and would you believe today (Tuesday) has been the first time I've put her back in bed without her crying a little? She was really scared! Anyways, so glad we tried it. But I don't think Brooke is old enough yet - maybe we'll try again in a few months. Problem is Brooke needs a nightlight and her door open. Brenna likes it dark and her door closed. Hmmm....gotta meet in the middle somehow.
