Thursday was Brooke's last day of school, but then Friday they had graduation and party. The teacher explained all kids are graduating...to the next level. Though there was only one 'official' graduate graduating Kindergarten and going into 1st grade. Of course, she'll start school back up in a week, so it's not all that sad or anything. Even most of the kiddos who are going off to 1st grade or leaving to go to Kindergarten elsewhere are going to be there for the Summer program. But it was still fun and a chance to eat cake!
The "graduation" was held outside (such a pretty day!) and all the kids lined up and waited for their names to be called. Here's Brooke getting her bag 'o stuff. She really scored! Lots of fun toys and stuff. Then there was cake and juice for everyone. And Brenna had her fair share of cake too! (Brad assured me...just cake, no icing.)And here's Brenna thinking she's big and wanting to play with the big kids...And a random picture - that Brooke took. Not too bad!Brooke with her graduation bear - Class of 2009!And here is Brooke with her favorite person in the whole wide world - Ms Lydia. If Ms Lydia says it, it's fact. She could hang the moon in Brooke's eye. She is a great teacher - the best! - and we are soooo thankful that Brooke is there with her.So, after the graduation party, we came home and it was sooo hot, so I decided I'd let Brooke play in the sprinkler in the yard. I really really had every intention of not letting Brenna get in. I didn't even put sunscreen on her. I thought we would stay inside and just let Brooke play outside for a while, while I fixed lunch. I should've known better. With Brenna, it ain't happening! She insisted to get down and had at it. I should've just put her swimsuit on. So afterwards, she was soaking wet, in regular clothes and in a regular diaper and covered in grass - cuz yea...the yard had just been mowed and all the grass clippings were still out there. So I had to strip her down outside and hose her off before letting her come back inside. She didn't care.
