Around the house

This week has been slow and boring for the most part. If you don't believe me, just ask Brooke. Every morning she asks, "can we go somewhere today Mommy?" Poor thing. I have been sick with a cold so I've been doing a whole lotta nothing! And no playdates since Mommy's sick. So we've watched movies, she's jumped on the trampoline and done a lot of indoor playing.

Brenna is completely weaned now. For a few days anyway. She is getting braver with her cruising and pushing around her little walk-behind lion. She gets 'stuck' every once in a while and Brooke is always to the rescue to turn her around. Though I really don't think she's close to walking. And truth be told, I'm not in any hurry for that one.She has recently discoverd Brooke's magnet/chalkboard closet door and loves taking the magnets on and off. Now, she discovered the LeapFrog letter toy. And she has figured out how to put the letters in and out. Cool!

Meanwhile, Brooke is building words on the Word Whammer. Though she is not satisified with one word now...she is building phrases....
We often find Brooke at her desk now, writing notes to people or coloring. And Brenna is always trying to get at what Brooke is doing...Brooke is enjoying reading to Brenna these days as much as Brenna enjoys her reading to her. Brenna's favorite sign these days is, after all, "book". She is signing sooo much now. She probably has a signing vocabulary of about 20 words I would guess.And Brooke (and eventually Brenna) scored a bunch of new books, courtesy of Ms Sharon at Brad's work. A ton of the Step Reader books and more! She is so pleased and is so excited!

And speaking of books, we pulled out Brenna's BIIIIG book the other day. This is a BIG book! And the girls had fun playing inside the "cave" as Brooke called it.

And just for fun, Brenna got stuck sitting in the basket. Haha!

So no news is good news I suppose. I hopefully am on the mend from this bothersome cold. Brooke starts Summer School next week. Brenna is signing and cruising like crazy and she will start Summer Kindermusik next week as well. We are getting two cereal bowls full of tomatos every 2 days and have aobut 4-5 squash going good now, as well as our first watermelon - yay! And we are cleaning out and preparing for our annual garage sale next weekend! That's all for now!
