Moving on up....

Anybody else singing the song from the sitcom The Jefferson's? Well, that's what *I* was thinking with the title post...

Anyways, the day we've been waiting for came today when the carseat we wanted for Brenna went on sale. She's a week shy of her 1st bday (shhh....don't tell!), but we went ahead and got her fitted for it now and put it in. We only had the infant seat/carrier for her before and she has definitely outgrown that! I wasn't about to buy another one just for the sake of having her rear facing for a few more months (the law says a year and 20lbs, but they recommend as long as possible). So we went ahead and bumped her up to the big time. Facing forward. I've been sooo ready to turn her around, if for no other reason than sheer laziness. Before, rear facing, she had to ride in the middle. Now, she can ride behind the driver and Brooke behind the passenger. Now, I only have to open one door...Brooke can crawl in from her side and do her own buckles. Much more efficient time-wise. Especially in the rain. The only drawback is the girls can't be side by side anymore... :-( but it has to end sometime.

So, here she is getting fitted...Doesn't she look so little? I know it's just because Brooke is in the same seat and looks so much bigger in it. But still...
And the two backseat passengers now...And she's already so much happier facing everyone else. Oh..and PS - the carseat that we now have both girls in is the Graco Nautilus. I highly recommend it to anyone that will listen! It's one of the few on the market that allow your child to be in a 5pt harness up to 65 lbs!!! (most go up to 40lbs) and 5pt harnessing is the safest way to go. Then it will still transition after that to a high back booster and then even a regular booster. The Britax also goes up higher, but is much more expensive and is a much larger carseat (takes up more room). I love this one b/c it has built in cupholders in the armrest (instead of attached to the outside of the armrest like so many other carseats) and it has special little "cubby holes" built in to the armrest as well to put toys, pacifiers, etc. It's really a great carseat if you're looking!

She look so cute and so proud to be riding in that seat!

We the Nautilus for Dean and LOVE the cupholder! I was thinking of getting one for Reed just because of that!
