4yr old exam

So, Brooke has her 4 year checkup coming up soon. The doctor's office sent out a "School Readiness Examination Screening" form to do with her, complete, and bring to her appt. I thought some of her answers were worth sharing. :)

Q: What do you do when you are sleepy?
A: "go to bed"

Q: What do you do when you are hungry?
A: "I get food"

Q: What do you do when you are cold?
A: "I get someping to warm me up, like a blanket"

----Then she had to repeat a few sentences word for word, repeat several numbers in the same order, etc etc... That was for the 4 yr old 'exam', but shortly following was the 5yr old 'exam' that we filled out too (I think they wanted both?) Anyway, she had to perform simple commands - Put the pencil on the chair, Close the door, Bring me the book, etc. Then answer random questions about her age, colors, etc.... Then give the definitions of words....

Q: What is a fork?
A: Its what you use to stab someping, like chicken

Q: What is a horse?
A: Well, its an animal that you ride and walk to the barn and back. (she helps Sammy take care of her horse)

Q: What is a table?
A: It's what holds your plate

Q: What is a pencil?
A: You write with it, but a pencil lets you erase it if you mess up.

Q: What is a doll?
A: Wellllll, if you wanna play, you just go get a doll to play with.

Q: What is a chair?
A: It's what you sit on so you don't fall off.

And finally, they had several shapes drawn out and she had to draw the same shape underneath each one.

I thought it was intersting, but it was kinda fun too to hear her genuine responses to the questions. In the doctor's office, I'm sure she'd clam up and not answer anything, so it's nice they send it out ahead of time. My personal favorite was her answer to the fork question - sounds a bit scary doesn't it? Of course, she doesn't mean a live chicken. Haha!
