Muffins and Artwork

Tonight Brooke made some blueberry muffins - yum! (well, I helped by putting them in the oven and taking them out).... And some artwork from school. These are pretty old actually, some from over summer, then from the Fall and one from today. Once a month, they do a 'craft' day at school and come home with something like this...

The rest of the days, they do their own work/jobs and bring home worksheets that they do and such. We are still amazed daily by the work she does and brings home. She is now following up at home by wanting to read more and more and more! Her favorite pasttime is now writing words. For instance, she'll say, "I wanna write the word 'PIG' Mommy." So she sounds it out - "Puh...i....Guh...." and then writes the corresponding letter. So, several things at work here. First the ability to spell a word, then the ability to sound it out, then the ability to write out a letter, much less the correct letter for the word. So around the house we have several sheets of pages with short words written out. She also loves to write her name, her sisters name, and our names. On our names, she sometimes writes "Mommy and Daddy" and sometimes she chooses to write "Brad and Brandy". Anyway, I can rave on and on about how super smart she is and how wonderful her school and teacher are, but I'll stop there and leave you with her latest cute picture. Isn't she the cutest?!
