Sugar highs
After a heavy day of shoe shopping, Brooke and I were hot. And tired. And she had done rather well throughout the day. Was very cooperative, tried on what I asked of her and wasn't grumpy, cranky, or difficult in any way. So, I told her as a 'treat', when we stopped at our final stop (Target), since we were both hot and thirsty, we would split an Icee. I don't think she's ever had one before. And after our experience, not sure if she will again.
I got a medium and split it pretty close to half and half with her. And by the time she finished it, let's just say, she was a different child! While I was browsing, shopping, etc., she was going nuts! She was singing songs (LOUDLY!), dancing around, making up some crazy stuff, and otherwise wierd things. I realize it doesn't sound so funny now and it probably was a "had-to-be-there moment", but it was so freaking hilarious! I had to call Brad over the phone and let him listen in and even he was cracking up. She grabbed some Tinkerbell panties off the rack and was totally shocked, "Mommy! Tinkerbell panties! SHOOT! I've never seen these before - Ay yi yi! What are we going to do?" And another one of her funnier things - she had taken the dome-type lid off the Icee cup and put it over her face and was almost yelling...."I'VE GOT MY MASK ON! THE TIGERS ARE COMING! MOMMY YOU NEED A MASK! SO THE TIGERS DON'T GET US!"
And she was almost totally serious. Anyway, so there you go. Brooke's first sugar high. Maybe next time we want her to be a little more outgoing at an event or social gathering, we'll just go get her an Icee first. LOL
