Party Time!

We had the joy of attending my aunt and uncle's 50th Anniversary celebration. 50 yrs! Can you imagine? So, my dad has 7 brothers and sisters. One of them has now been married for 50 years. She in turn has 8 children herself and all but one of them are married and have several kids of their own. Not to mention my dad's other brothers and sisters and their kids. Needless to say, this side of the family is large! I don't think Brad has yet to meet everyone and to tell you the truth, I don't remember names and faces of all the kids' kids. Its just way too many to keep track of.

But it was nice going to celebrate such a monumental occassion and getting to see relatives we don't get to see too often. So, we loaded up the family for a little weekend trip. They did quite well on the drive and everyone was thrilled to see Brooke and of course, Brenna. I do believe Brenna was the youngest one there. :)
Brooke had a blast at the party. While she was a bit shy to those she didn't know too well, she thoroughly enjoyed dancing the night away! She did the Grand March with us and everyone was gawking at how cute she was out there dancing away and thought it was super cute while she did the Chicken Dance and knew all the moves. So, here's some pictures from the event....

My dad (furthest on the left) and the other remaining siblings (minus one) - out of eight, there are only four left...the other four have passed. The one in the blue dress with corsage (Monica) is the one celebrating 50 yrs with her husband, Johnnie, who is just behind her. Then Stella with the blonde hair, John next to her and Buddy on the far right (Buddy is one of Monica's sons, the only one pictured that is not a 'sibling'):

Doing the Grand March (and if you don't know what that is, then you've never been to a small town Texas wedding):

Dancing it up with Daddy:Learning some serious dance moves with a cousin:

And video of the Chicken Dance (you may have to pause the music playing to hear this video. Scroll all the way down to where you see 'playlist' and click on the pause button):

And my cousin, Kevin, singing (he's good huh? He was in the Signing Corps of Cadets at A&M - a few years ago ;) :
