"Me" Books

Today was Brooke's next to last day of school. Her teacher had prepared a small reception for presentation of the kids' "Me" Books to the parents. A "Me" Book is a collection of the child's artwork, photos and more assembled into a very nicely designed book. Now, we really lucked out in that Brooke's teacher, Ms Magda, has an art degree and really did a lot of wonderful projects with this kids over the last year. She also hand-drew/designed the front cover of each of their books in a drawing that resembled each child. Inside the book itself is a huge collection of wonderful, meaningful, and nicely arranged artwork that Brooke did in chronological order. Most have bible verses or themes to go along with that particular page. The final few pages were a random collection of photos of Brooke taken at key moments throughout the school year. The book was VERY well done and it is definitely a treasure we will be keeping. And you only need to ask to get me to show it off to you if you are ever in the neighborhood. :)

I'm so thankful that Brooke had such a wonderful, caring, and compassionate teacher this year. And one that really helped her develop. (At the beginning of the year, she refused to paint anything!) And she was also very good with Brooke's timidness and quickly learned appropriate tactics in dealing with that and getting her to come out of her shell and participate more. Again, I feel Brooke was so blessed to have a great teacher this year and we will sadly miss this wonderful class and this great group of friends she has become attached to.

Presentation of the "Me" Book...(and Brooke lucked out that Daddy was still on paternity leave and was here to participate today)...
Brooke's teachers...(from left to right)....Ms Cristi, Ms Magda, and Ms Cait. The two asst teachers (on the outside) have changed midway through the year, but the other two (MIA from this picture) were Ms Megan and Ms Beth. Ms Megan was definitely a treasure and we will miss her greatly! Her and Brooke shared a special connection. Ms Beth left when she had her baby and we also had a close bond with her as well. Thanks to all of Brooke's teachers and the entire staff of Kingdom Kids. It was a pleasure working there and a great pleasure to have Brooke enrolled. Ms Magda, you are the greatest and most kind person who has great abilities in dealing with all these kids, esp the ones who don't nap for you ;) . We'll miss everyone!
