I've started off the year substitute teaching. So far, I've been in 3rd grade, 1st grade, 1st grade dual language, 4th grade, and Kindergarten. Making the rounds... 3rd grade was the most difficult. I think because partly I know those kids (Brooke's age). It made it hard for them to respect me as a teacher and not just a parent volunteer. It's different. Not to mention, it was a last minute subbing job and there weren't any plans left out. AND. To top it off, the class next door was taking a test so we were supposed to be being extra super duper quiet. The only time being in an open concept school is difficult. ;)
That was my first gig. Lucky I went back! Ha! But, the next one was 1st grade dual language...the kids were soooooo good. Seriously good. Like, surprisingly good. Other teachers kept coming by remarking how good they were being! I should've had that job first, eh? And no, I didn't even have to speak Spanish. They did though! What I looked up at all day...
Then I did 1st grade, regular class - another great class. And then 4th and next Kinder. Its keeping me busy that's for sure - as if I wasn't busy enough already right? I know that's what you're thinking...
