Softball practice

Brooke still loves going to softball practice.  I think she can tell she's really getting a lot better these days.  Getting new (good prescription!) glasses really helped with her hitting and catching.  Plus, she's just really come a long way.  She's been working on catching a LOT on her own.  Its her mission to catch every single ball when we play catch. She's got quite an arm as well and can easily field the ball and make it to 1st base from 3rd.  Its not a rocket or anything, but it gets there without bouncing typically.  It also helps that the tournament team she's playing on is a younger team in the 8U division so she is one of the oldest and more experienced...which translates to her being one of the better ones.  Its built her confidence.  She misses her old team members, but I think the experience she's gaining and confidence she's building far outweighs the friendships she's missing out on (that she will get back come Fall Ball).

They do a lot to make practice fun.  They incorporate sprinklers to keep the girls cool (though they only practice at dusk so its cooler anyway that time of day), they do competitions for candy, and most recently practiced catching with eggs.  Real eggs...yes.  Brooke caught every one.  :)
