Softball Camp

Brooke got to go to a softball camp that the local High School puts on every summer for girls from 3rd-8th grade.  It was sooooo good.  It was 1) super cheap, 2) great value, 3) lots of fun, 4) a good experience all around for Brooke, and 5) lots of fun!  I think we will definitely be doing this again.  Her only complaint (and she didn't really complain...that's an exaageration even at that) was the heat.  But the camp was only in the mornings, every day for a week from 8:30-12.  They learned lots, got a Tshirt, had fun, and most importantly got to play some softball!

Day one - excited to do this!  I packed her everything.  I packed plenty of cool water, a towel to keep cool with, all her softball equipment...bat, glove, helmet.  And we get there.  And there's a faint scent of....  what?

Sunscreen.

I forgot sunscreen.  Doh!

Her teammate from the Americans, the Jaguars, and the Cougars and her softball BFF was there at camp with her, Calista!

Afterwards, she was worn out (in a good way)!!  And hot.  But, turned out she was fine without sunscreen.  No sunburn.  But you can bet the next day I lathered her up!  LOL

Her and Calista planned to wear their team shirts, but they got confused on which day to wear what shirt - haha!

Later in the week, she decided it was a good idea to wear a hat and has since been wearing hats all the time when she plays softball (she still has practices w her tournament team weekly)...

Brenna liked to go at pickup time and sit on the Texas.  Believe it or not this was fun for her - the little things, people.  ;)  She also got to have a couple of by herself playdates w friends while Brooke was at camp, so she had her own fun!

One day they practiced sliding - on a huge slip n slide.  So that was a fun way to keep cool and learn!  (and get soaked..hee hee)

The last day came too quick.  I know she would do this camp all through the summer if they offered it!
