Praying Mantis update

So the praying mantis's are still making it over here.  We lost a few along the way... not sure why.  Not sure if they ate each other or if the others were just weaker or what.  I dunno.  But that's fine.  We ended up separating and putting about 3 or 4 in one net, 3 or 4 in another net, 1 alone in a bug carrier thing, and 1 alone in a small net.  We've been feeding those and caring for those now.  And soon we'll get them down to only 'keeping' 2, letting the rest lose when they get big enough in the garden.

I hope to get some good pictures of them soon, but eh...never want to when I'm thinking about it.  :P  But when we transferred them to the individual nets, the girls did get to hold them.  Thought that was cool and took some iPhone pics anyway...

They've already gotten a lot bigger since these pictures were taken and since this posting.  So I'll try to get some good pics soon.  Its kinda cool to watch them grow!  They eat fruit flies right now, which are pretty easy to 'grow' (blech!)...soon we'll be up to crickets and such.  At that point, we'll probably send all but two to the garden.  We've got two definite stronger (bigger) ones out of the bunch that the girls have 'claimed'.  Haha!
