Toms times 3!

I just wanted to tell this story b/c its kinda funny how this all worked out.

Last year for her bday, Brooke desperately wanted a pair of Toms.  So, my mom bought her a pair.

However, after they arrived, within a day or two, the sole was pulling away from the shoe!  I was kinda ticked b/c...well, these aren't exactly cheap shoes!  So I took a picture, emailed Toms and eventually talked with them and they told me they would be happy to send out another pair to replace these and I could just keep these.  Ok.  Except they didn't have the same ones in stock anymore.  So we had Brooke pick out another pair that she liked.  She ended up choosing a plain pink pair.  And sure enough they arrived with no problems a few days later.  I was able to repair the original pair good enough and she now had two pair of Toms!

Fast forward to this past Fall (a near 6 mos later).  I get an email from Toms saying that their company had gone through some changes, that they realized that we had a problem way back when and they wanted to 'right their wrong' (I thought they already did by sending us a new pair?) and gave me a $50 store credit.  :o  Wow!  I was impressed!  That's REALLY good customer service!  So, I let Brooke pick out yet another pair of Toms.  This time she picked the snow leopard print, which are mighty cute I think and go with a lot.  The extra credit covered not only the shoes, but the shipping as well.  So...another free pair of Toms.  I'm starting to like this company!  LOL

Then just a few days ago, a website named Zulily advertised that they had Toms (on sale).  They always have cheaper prices but have limited quantities and such, so when I saw that...and knowing how much Brooke LOVES her Toms now (seriously, she rarely wears any other shoes), I thought I'd buy her another pair in a bigger size since they were,...eh...probably 30% off or so?  I let her choose which ones off their site she liked and spent my first money ever on Toms (yet, she now had 3 pair).  They confirmed my order, even sent me a shipping confirmation.  The ones she picked were white, with some cute pink butterflies or something...  (again, Zulily has limited selection, but these were cute!).  Just before my order arrived, though, Zulily sent out another email saying..."oops.  My bad.  We actually sent you a different pair from what you ordered.  However, you can keep those and we will just issue you a store credit."  Ummmm, what?!?!  No!  The ones they were now sending me looked NOTHING like the ones she ordered.  So, sure enough, as soon as we got them in, they were completely different, I called Zulily and politely told them that that was not acceptable.  That I would send the shoes back and get a refund, but we were not paying for something we did not order.  In turn, they told me they were incredibly sorry, to keep the shoes AND they would refund my money AND give me a $10 store credit for future use.

So.  Yep.  ANOTHER free pair of Toms.  And I kinda feel bad...  Brooke now has four pair of Toms, of which we didn't pay for any of them!  (Granted, my mom did buy the first initial pair)  But I am not one of these people that complains just to get a free meal...these were all just random unrelated circumstances that led to her getting 3 pair of free Toms.  Cool?
