Family Christmas Celebration

Each year a little before Christmas, we have a Sunday afternoon lunch and Christmas celebration with Brad's extended family.  Cousins, aunts and uncles and so forth.  However, this year...  THIS year...  every single (living) descendant of Brad's grandmother was present.  Everyone flew in from out of state, out of country.  The award for furthest travelled goes to Tim and Bambi, from the Phillipines.  But we had family from Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas...everywhere!  I think it was 50 ish people.  So cool for Muna to have her WHOLE family there.  And so many memories and a great time for the rest of us!

First, we started the day with going to church at Brad's mom's church to hear Timothy preach.

Afterwards, we alllll  went out to a local banquet hall to a catered lunch of turkey, ham, dressing, and all the fixings, along with a slew of desserts!  It was delish!

The kids loved playing outside with the big kids.  Along the pond and just running around while we took individual family pictures of each sub family.  ;)  And, eventually the full group picture that you saw above.

We also had live performances from many family members (I tried to get Brooke up to show off her piano playing mad skills, but she was too shy...and gasp!  It was a keyboard, mom!  Not a piano!)

I mustache you a question....

Muna distributed gifts to all the little kids, which our kids LOVED!

Then, they played a game of musical chairs for some extra gifts.  Once you were "out", you got to go pick a gift.  I am not sure what was more fun for them - the game or the gift.  :)

And last but not least, the adults had the White Elephant/Chinese Christmas/Tree gift exchange.  Always competitive and fun!  Brad also got to give Owen the annual back and forth present of the most awful gifts ever.  They've been at it for years!  Each year it comes back to the other with maybe a little something 'extra'.  So funny!

Finally, the woman of the hour speaking.  97 1/2 years old (yes, this happened to fall on her half birthday!  Haha!) and still going and doing for all of us.  Couldn't be more blessed to have her around.  Love you Muna!  :)
