Meet the Teacher

The kids had meet the teacher night last week at their different schools.  Brenna will be starting at our church's brand new preschool!  I feel so bad for her and all the changes she's gone through with regard to different schools and such.  And she's had quite a few struggles because of it.  Hindsight is 20/20 always and we would've could've should've done a lot of things differently, but we are where we are now and are trying to do the best we can for our girl.  All that said, we are very excited for her to be in a MUCH more loving environment.  It may not be near the academic level that she is capable of (and we will continue to let her be challenged at home), but it is oh-so-worth the trade off to know that they will genuinely love her there.  They already do!  And we are super happy that she will be getting a Christian education more importantly.  She is so excited to go to school, counting down the days..  instead of crying and begging not to go.  :(  So we are ready!  Her teacher is her Sunday School teacher, coincidentally enough and she LOVES her...runs and gives her hugs at any given moment.  I am so happy she will have Ms Betty.  And Ms Susan is just as enamored with Brenna.  Yay!

She got to take her school supplies and play and everything was wonderful.  :)

And upon seeing the Mr. M - she also had to run and give him a hug.  Mr M is the Director of Children's Education there at the church (Sunday School, youth, etc...) and is coincidentally Ms Betty's husband.  ;)

You might've noticed Brenna's hair being a little (or a lot) curly in the pictures.  She wanted me to make her hair super curly for Meet the Teacher.  It took a lot of prep that she was very patient for, but I think she was sooo cute.  :)

Upon leaving her Meet the Teacher night, we saw this beautiful sunset with a silver lined cloud.  A coincidence?  I think not.  God winks.  ;)

The very next night, we had Brooke's Meet the Teacher night.  Of course, we already knew who her teacher was, but still exciting to go and "meet" officially for the first time.  She is going into 2nd grade this year and we are very excited and thrilled that she has Mrs. Neff.  Mrs Neff is up there with the awesome teacher list with everyone in our local school AND COMMUNITY!  She has been teaching for a long long while (decades actually) and comes with high standard seals of approval across the board.  We can't wait to see what she has in store for the kids this year!

Brooke was a little bummed that not too many of good girl friends were in her class this year, but I know she'll be fine.  There are several sweet girls in her class and her good friends from last year are just across the hall...and still available on the playground.  ;)

She did enjoy getting to check out all the cool things in her new classroom - another difference from last year.  2nd grade is the one grade in her school that is in the portables.  She was not excited about it really......until she got to see her new room.  She was loving all the cool stuff Mrs Neff had set up ready to go!

Anyway, I know both the girls will do great and we anxiously await the first day of school tomorrow!  Woo hoo!  :)
