It was in that stage that they were in their cocoon, for lack of a better more technical word. They didn't LOOK so much different, but just appeared perfectly still, wrapping their legs underneath. Then over this past weekend, after a few days of them being 'still', the ladybugs started to hatch. I say hatch, bc we got to actually witness a couple in the process. And it looks like another bug coming out of the original bug, like they are laying an egg. And then, the commonly recognized ladybug appears.
At that point is when you are supposed to feed them. Raisins. Watered down raisins. Who knew, right?
But they love it and will thrive on raisins for about a week or so and then we will let them go. I think. I need to double check the directions again. ;)
