After she got her 100 points, I thought she might slow down on reading. Nope.

She just genuinely enjoys reading! And now, it's a tad bit frustrating b/c on her test she scored a reading level of 3.8. Which means 3rd grade, 8th month (yes, she's IN first grade). However, while that might sound impressive.... she really reads MUCH better/faster than what she tested at (she doesn't do well at written, pressure-filled tests). So the computer will only allow her to check out books from the library up to a 3.8 level. Problem? She reads those books (which are shorter chapter books - like, 150 pages maybe?) in like 30-40 minutes and moves to the next. Yea. No joke. The girl can read as fast as me now. And she's not just reading...she's comprehending. Because she then takes the (AR) tests on all these books.

That screenshot was taken after a test she took last week while I was there (of the AR app). You can see she has read (as of that day!) she has read 668,000 words. She's read 136 books and now has over 114 points. I'm sure by now (since that picture and now as of this posting) she's probably up to over 700,000. Her next goal? A million words. They have another award for a million words read. Since they are the jaguars, its a shirt and picture and medal for "spotting a million words". I don't know.... we'll see. She's gotten awards already for tripling her AR goal and more. It's insane.
So now our problem is trying to find and feed her books that are on a higher level (her teacher has since approved her checking out higher level books despite her testing level) that have appropriate content for a 1st grader. Hrm...
