Awards

At the end of the semester, the school has 1st semester awards. It was supposed to be in their newly rennovated outdoor classroom (which is SUPER nice btw), however, it was also the coldest day of the year thus far on that particular day. So last minute decision to move it inside. So it was less than formal, but still... important. :)

Brooke's awards went as follows:

Perfect Attendance...

AR (advanced reading) goal award...

All A Honor Roll...

Each kid got SOME sort of award (great mathmetician, expert scientist, reading awards, etc, etc etc..). Brooke's variation of this award was the overall "Smarty Pants" award, for overall academic achievement and always being a busy worker and getting her stuff done, etc.... (along with the other recipient, her BFF, Rhea)...

But, by far, the most impressive award she got was the one all the 1st graders voted for! That's right. All the 1st graders voted for who they thought had the best character...and they had to give a reason behind their vote (they've been talking about elections, etc with the election stuff going on in the news). And Brooke won the girl with the best character! Needless to say, she was most proud of that one! Who wouldn't be?!? It meant that she was the one everyone else voted for! We've been saying all along that she is definitely the one that everyone else gets along with, but this affirms it (for her anyway). In fact, when I was leaving the school after awards were over, I took all her stuff (certificates, coupons, awards) home with me, but she made me leave that one with her at school the rest of the day. :)

Also picture (above) is the boy recipient, Andrew

So proud of her and how well she has 'fit in' to her new school and has beyond exceeded our expectations!
