Our days seem to be more busy crazy than ever before during these last few supposedly lazy days of summer. We have the highly anticipated Meet the Teacher night coming up this week! But in the meantime, Brooke received a letter from her teacher, welcoming her to the class and reminding her to come to Meet the Teacher, etc. (Brenna also got a letter the same day, coincidentally, from her school inviting us to an ice cream social before school starts...but that'll be next week ;) So now we know who Brooke's teacher is, were able to look at her picture (on their website), and find out some scoop. Supposedly she is the best first grade teacher at her school, has a Masters, specialities in Reading, and has a great gentle caring spirit which will supposedly lead to a perfect match for Brooke. We are so excited to meet Mrs Taylor! :)
In the meantime, her backpack arrived. I really like it! Much better than a PBK kids one we had looked at (in person) and a lot better than most in the stores. And I love how the lunch box clips to the outside. Not sure if she'll use that feature a lot, but its still nice to have. Also, the lunch box is a lot roomier than the others we had looked at so her stuff will actually fit inside! :) I was a little worried from the picture online to know if being rounded shape (at the top) if folders would easily fit inside. But the picture online is deceiving! Its very deep and will fit all a 1st grader should need and then some.
Otherwise, this last week before school starts will be filled with the last of a final round of swimming lessons, gymnastics, cutting bed times back earlier (hopefully!) to get ready for early mornings and no nap days, and hugging and kissing on my baby before she heads out in the big bad world of 1st grade! :)
