Yep. Our peach tree is blooming in full force. *sigh*.... But I'm not ready for winter to be over!!! I mean, don't get me wrong. Spring is my absolute favorite time of the year. Winter and cold temperatures are just so short lived here it'd be nice if it stuck around a little longer. :( I like using my fireplace!
Plus I think I am a little more sad because with Spring this particular year brings a whole slew of changes in our life. Brooke graduating Kindergarten. Brenna leaving Ms Lydia's. Brooke going off to public school... birthdays... *sigh* Do they have to grow up???
Anyway, so far the only sign is this peach tree blooming. All the other trees are still barren and most things are still frozen. It'll be interesting to see what actually survived this winter. We've had freezing temps before where everything survived. We've gotten pretty low before in years past. But this is the first year we've been here that the temps stayed below freezing for days at a time. So, not sure the outcome of some of the plants and trees. I am sure one of my favorites - the bridal wreath - is definitely dead. :( Waiting to see on the rest of the trees. And today, actually we are planning to prune back our rose bushes to see if they'll take off again soon. Keep you updated, but our peach tree is definitely looking good! :)
