Every year we try to make it out to the Christmas parade. It's a huge deal. It's a huge parade. I think this year there were 96 entries? It typically lasts (in years past) 2 1/2-3 hrs! This year, however, they were booking it and it didn't even quite last 2 hrs.
Here is Brooke writing her letter to Santa ahead of time...
The attendees this year were much more rude than any year past. We parked our car up there early (to get a good spot) and left it. When we got back prior to the parade starting, someone (several someones!) had stolen our place, despite our 2 cars being right there! Ugh. The nerve! So, anyway...we were forced to move down aways and then were literally griped out by someone next to us b/c we were invading HER space. Seriously woman?! And to say "griped" out was putting it mildly. Then, we are finally plopped on the curb and I kept getting stepped on (quite literally...I had shoe prints on my jeans!) by this same woman's kids begging for a stupid candy cane every 5 seconds. No way was I moving to have Brenna get trampled, but I could not believe the nerve of people. At a CHRISTMAS parade nonetheless. Ugh.
But luckily, the girls did not even notice all this. They loved seeing all the bands and floats and horses and more. A favorite each year is the Cat in the Hat...
And here's Brooke delivering her letter to one of Santa's helpers...
Despite the unfriendliness of the people around us, we really did have a pretty good time..all of us. Its a fun start to the holiday season around here! :)
