Yesterday we had another sad goodbye. Brooke's longest friend ever moved away (like, far... out of state!) today. They have been true friends since they turned a year old and some change! I say true friends, b/c they honestly hit it off the first playdate we had. They giggled in the sandbox as only two BFF's would giggle together. And they both barely were talking!
From then on, they haven't stopped talking to each other, having fun together, giggling like crazy any time they are around each other, telling secrets, and just in general having a blast together. Despite being in different schools, different programs, and living across town from each other...anytime we got these two together, they had a blast. They love each other dearly and are honestly best friends. It is sad for us to see them go and Brooke will miss her friend dearly.
It was a tough drive home after the goodbye for Brooke. Everything was fine and upbeat, until we got in the car. Then Brooke started sobbing uncontrollably. It ripped my heart out to see her so genuinely sad. She said she was soo sad because Trinity was her longest friend ever and now she was gone. She said she didn't have any friends left now to come over and play at her house or at the park (after her other close friend, Sierra moved too!). She only has had two very good friends her whole life (Trinity was her first and longest) and they both moved away the last month. So last night, she sobbed (hard!) all the way home. It was the most painful thing I ever had to listen to. My sweet girl's heart was broken. :( When we got home, she pulled it together long enough to somberly look through a photo album I prepared for each of the girls of pictures from way back in the day. She's doing better today, but wanted to take her pictures to school today to show her teacher. She is really going to miss her dear friend, Trinity.
